Nowadays, the FTP service is one of the best ways of transferring files over the network or the Internet. FTP has become so popular because it supports a high transfer speed and all the files stored on a FTP server can be accessed using Windows alone, without requiring additional software. After installing the application, the user will be presented with an interface which resembles the one of a typical file manager. There are two panels available, one for displaying offline files and one for showing the contents of the FTP server.

The user can connect to a FTP server in two ways, either by using the quick connect feature, which only requires entering the server address, username and password or by using the site manager, in which he can store all the FTP servers he accesses on a regular basis. Either way, the program will quickly display the contents of the server and allows the user to copy or move files and folders from the hard disk or FTP server using drag and drop.

Besides offering FTP access in a very simple way, FlashFXP also includes some extra features, like a text editor which resembles Notepad, but has many more features, and the possibility to compare two different folders. This is useful for keeping backups of all your important files on a FTP server and making sure that the content is the same both ways. Advanced users can take advantage of the feature which allows manually entering FTP commands to be run after connecting to the FTP server. In this way, he will have a much better control over the FTP session.
